Our specialist solicitors have been serving Yorkshire and beyond since 1982.

Four decades of legal expertise... ¶

Harwood and Co was founded in 1982 as C W Harwood and Co and traded for many years from premises on St Pauls Street, Leeds before moving to Kimberley House on Woodhouse Square and then, in 2019, to its present premises. ¶

It originally dealt with property matters, as well as civil litigation, debt collection and matrimonial law but from the outset, developed close relationships with the credit control sector. ¶

New faces ¶

Our senior partner, Robert Addlestone, joined the firm in 1984, and in 1987, Gareth Allen joined and now leads our Client Relations, ensuring that our approach remains responsive and client-driven. ¶

In 2019, Joe Addlestone joined with a vision for modernisation, blending our firm’s rich heritage with innovative legal solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Together, our leadership team continues to uphold our core values while embracing the future of legal practice. ¶

Specialist services ¶

The firm has gradually become more specialised, focusing substantially on commercial matters and building up a strong reputation for its work with the credit and finance industries, as well as conducting complex and high value claims. ¶

Since 2018, we have dealt solely with litigation, debt recovery, insolvency and dispute resolution. The company has also been, and remains, at the forefront of the use of IT in the litigation process. ¶
