Managing Associate, Litigation Team ¶
We are seeking an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join our Litigation Team. We will also consider applications from experienced, non-qualified individuals.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling contested civil litigation, including both Fast Track and Intermediate Track claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing defended civil litigation files, assessing their risk profile, and allocating them to the appropriate fee earner.
- Managing the team's caseload to ensure fee earners are working efficiently.
- Managing your own caseload of contested litigation matters, typically Fast Track and Intermediate Track claims.
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements and court applications.
- Supervising junior team members who are dealing with defended small claims.
- Forming strong relationships with key clients and providing clear and practical guidance to them.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of civil litigation procedures and relevant case law, and sharing this with the team.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in contested civil litigation.
- Proven experience handling Fast Track and Intermediate Track claims.
- An understanding of the processes typical debt claims take.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and client care.
Desirable Attributes
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, but we will consider other candidates for the role:
- Experience managing a team of lawyers.
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
Other Information
The vast majority of claims handled by our litigation team are defended debt claims, where we act for a claimant business.
